The 2008 Dragon Boat races were run on August 2 and 3, 2008.  CAMS is one of the sponsors for the training of the rowers.  The NYC youth club trains 40 kids (high school and college) each year.  They trained 4 evenings a week plus the weekend for four months which culminates into this Hong Kong Race in Queens.  It is a wonderful group activity for our youth.  Our team is called the Wall Street Dragons and our captain is a Styvesant football team captain.  We came in second.  The festival dinner was held on August 8 at the Golden Bridge Restaurant.  CAMS President Dr. Wilson Ko and Executive Director Dr. H. H. Wang attended the dinner and met the team.  They even got on stage to be included in the award ceremony.

Our teams sent us an appreciation letter which reads in part as follows:

To the Chinese American Medical Society: Thanks for sponsoring us and giving us the opportunity to race in the 18th Annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival.  Without your generous donations, the participation of our team would not have been made possible.  We want to acknowledge your generosity for making everything possible.  It was really an unforgettable experience for each and every member of our team.
