Scholarship Program

Since 1973, the society has awarded 3 to 5 scholarships a year to medical and/or dental students and scientists The funds come from contributions and from the fundraising dinners. Starting in 1989, an Esther Lim Memorial Scholarship was established, the result of a bequest by Dr. Lim, a late member of the Society, and her family. In 1996, a Ruth Liu Memorial Scholarship was added by Dr. George Liu and friends to honor Dr. Liu's late wife. A third named Scholarship, The American Center for Chinese Medical Sciences Scholarship, was donated by the American Center for Chinese Medical Sciences, based at Washington, D.C., upon the dissolution of the organization, in 2004.
To be eligible to apply, a student must be matriculating in a medical or dental school.
